Draymond Green, the former Michigan State and Golden State Warriors star officially was added to the U.S. men's basketball national team for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He is coach Tom Izzo's first Olympian and will be the third Spartan alum to play in the Summer Games, joining Magic Johnson in 1992 and Steve Smith in 2000.

Draymond Green is honored to represent our country and hopes to bring home that gold medal.  According to the Lansing State Journal, Green averaged 14 points, 9.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game in leading the Warriors to an NBA record 73 wins during the regular season.
