VIDEO: A Cruise Thru 1960’s Downtown Lansing

Here's another video I posted last year.

The driver cruises down Kalamazoo Street to the Oldsmobile plant and actually shows
I-496 being built; he then cruises downtown Lansing. Extremely cool video.

To get an idea when the video was shot, the first section of I-496 opened in December 1963 while the entire strip was finished on December 18, 1970.

Lansing has been such an intriguing place for approximately 200 years. It's history is fascinating and a joy to delve into...you should try it sometime if you already haven't.

Residents miss the wonderful things Lansing had to offer decades ago. We still have wonderful things - but the classic stuff can never be replaced or duplicated, no matter how hard anyone tries.
