For the first time in more than 25 years, people are hanging out in Lansing's largest park.  Crego Park, located off East Mt. Hope Road near Evergreen Cemetery, was closed in 1986 after industrial waste was found on the property.

It officially is the rebirth of the 200-acre park which held a ceremony Thursday as dozens of children from the city's summer recreation programs played at 15-acre Fidelity Lake.

City officials and more than a dozen relatives of former Lansing Mayor Ralph Crego, for whom the park is named, took part in the ribbon cutting.

Take the kids to Crego Park and enjoy canoeing, kayaking and fishing!
