The Ghost Town of Columbia Corners: Tuscola County, Michigan
The once-upon-a-town of Columbia Corners is located in Tuscola County, Columbia Township, at the intersection of the roads W. Dickerson & French. This unincorporated community was started in 1854 near Coggin Creek. The creek dried up and the indentation is now used as the Bach Drain.
The town had its own post office from 1879 until 1903 and a schoolhouse was established in 1909. The schoolhouse still stands, seemingly in good shape, but the post office and any signs of stores or any businesses are gone, except for a church north on French Rd.
As you can see in the images below, the schoolhouse looks great.
There are a handful of residents in the area, so respect this community if you pay a visit! Drive-thru some afternoon for some photo ops…but remember, there are no stores or gas stations, so bring munchies and gas up before you go.
