Chrysler is recalling 780,000 minivans for window switches that can overheat and catch fire, according to the filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2010-2014 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan have driver's side master power window switches that can short if any "syrupy liquid" seeps under the switch plate onto the electrical contacts below.  The switch can then melt, produce smoke and catch fire within the door itself.

About 644,000 minivans are affected in the U.S. with 106,980 in Canada and the rest in Mexico and other markets.
