For the first time in nearly 20 years, weekend tourists in Lansing will again be able to tour the city's most iconic attraction.

On May 30, Saturday hours will return to the Capitol Building downtown after the Michigan State Capitol Commission on Monday approved the addition of a new tour guide.

The 136 year old statehouse, a National Historic Landmark, will be open May 30 for the city's annual Be a Tourist in Your Own Town event, and then will maintain regular 10a.m. to 4p.m. hours on Saturdays beginning June 6.
