There's been a lot of death in the last couple of years...pets, friends and family. Now, here's another.

Some may scoff, but our pet white rabbit passed away Tuesday after a nice, long life. A couple days earlier, he looked a little ragged, as he hadn't groomed himself...he ate well the day before, gobbling up his greens as if he was still healthy.

Then, I get home from work that night, and he was gone. It doesn't matter to me if it's a dog, cat, whatever. Pets still come to mean something to us, no matter what kind it is.

Even kids get emotional when something as emotionless as a goldfish winds belly-up in the tank. So treat your pets with kindness and understanding, because they'll probably leave this earth way before you do...leaving a huge, empty void - depending how much love you give them.
