There are many wonderful Christmas films and I'm sure you have your favorite. But let's face it: Charles' Dickens story of Ebenezer Scrooge - "A Christmas Carol" - is the classic to beat ALL holiday stories. And the absolute BEST version of this story was released in 1951 with the great Alastair Sim as Scrooge. He played the most believable Scrooge that you will ever witness in any film version of the Dickens tale. He's pure mean in the first part of the film, crotchety as the ghosts take him all over the place, remorseful as he mulls over his past life and finally full of glee, joy, humor and warmth by the last ten minutes of the film. This guy went through all the human emotions and was totally believable with them all. The film drags a little toward the middle but it's worth it to see his metamorphosis by the end of the film. Pure joy and a classic in the purest sense of the word. AWESOME PERFORMANCE.
