General Motors is going to be hiring some new workers, in fact they are going to be hiring 500 new workers.  Along with the new employees GM will also be adding a 3rd shift as well.

UAW local 652 President Mike Green, says that they will be fully utilized for the first time since the plant has been here.  They will be building new cars 5 days a week, 24 hours a day at the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant for the first time since it opened in 2001.

The new Camaro is flying off the lots of dealerships and some have a waiting list.

When all hiring is complete, the plant will have a workforce of 2,300 workers.
