The Alzheimer's Association invites Lansing area residents to participate in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's.  The walk takes place on Sunday at the State Capitol in Lansing.

Over 180,000 individuals in Michigan are living with the disease.  The walk aims to raise funds to help care and support those affected, as well as to fund research to find a cure.

According to the Alzheimer's Association, the disease is the nation's sixth leading cause of death.  They predict that as the population ages, the number of people living with the disease will increase to as many as 16 million by 2050.  Click here on WILX-TV 10 for more information.
