Actress Ashley Judd spoke to more than 300 people, mostly women, during her closing keynote speech at the ATHENA International Leadership Conference on Tuesday at the Lansing Center.

ATHENA International is a nonprofit organization that seeks to support, develop and honor women leaders.

Judd is a well known actress, and she is also a humanitarian and political activist.  She has addressed the General Assembly of the United Nations on the modern slave trade.  She was appointed as Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations Population Fund as well.

Judd said the way forward for women, is a journey toward interdependency.   It's the pluralism and diversity of women sharing our experience, strength and hope is what I believe is the way forward.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
