Q: What's the big meaning behind the Chicago song 25 OR 6 TO 4?

A: Exactly what it says: 25 or 26 minutes before 4 o'clock. No hidden meanings, no drug connotations, "just a reference to the time of day," according to Chicago member Robert Lamm, who went on to state "the song is about writing a song. It's not mystical." The time of day referred to in the title is 3:35 or3:34 am, not pm . 25 OR 6 TO 4 was Chicago's third chart single, peaking at #4 in the summer of 1970. Chicago re-recorded and updated the song in 1986 when it again made the charts (#48).
